As you enter the main living room areas one is struck by the sense of abundant space afforded by the double-volume height design. The off-shutter dimple effect concrete is the signature material used throughout on the walls contrasted with polished concrete floors and teakwood stairs. This minimalist design cue is softened by baroque-inspired furnishings such as beautiful oyster-sage five meter drape curtains that dress the huge patio door windows that dissolve the interior/ exterior distinction. A fine glass bead chandelier sourced overseas suspended over a large circular ottoman in the main lounge catch the eye as do huge white bean bags that sit outside invitingly. The interior was renovated this year and features such comforts as a deep mink-taupe sofa suite centred on a fireplace while adjacent al fresco dining options are facilitated by a solid natural timberwood table here screened by shutters from the extremities of weather year round. A large island of white marble counters dominate the full-specification kitchen equipped with Miele appliances: double ovens, gas hobs and fridge freezer are complemented by an industrial barbecue (outside) to enable large party entertaining in this ideal venue. Large conical silver lampsades are hung from the ceiling while kudu horns demarcate the adjoining lounge area. There is a wine cellar of imaginative open crates downstairs next to the double garage. A deep brown Cadillac couch with distinctive art deco easy chairs on the other side of the kitchen are positioned around a wide-screen Samsung television.
The view of Lions Head from the expansive 10 meter pool deck verandah is perfectly framed while a progressively shelved shallow end renders the swimming pool child-freiendly. A childs bedroom with freestanding oval bathtub opens out directly onto the main terrace while a wendy house sits behind the villa. The ground floor accommodates the master suite that offers plentiful walk-through wardrobe space finished in supergloss laquer effect and features an arresting silver leaf dressing table, deep Alpaca rug as well as signature grey oval bath and large walk-in shower area with views back to the Twelve Apostles. As elsewhere, practical lockable shutters allow you to sleep with the windows open allowing for restful sea breezes in safety. To the rear is a third spacious en suite guest bedroom again provided with a walk-in stone shower.
Humourous African wood figurines stand at the foot, by the plinth, of the handsome oak staircase leading up to the gym, office area and fourth bedroom. The fully equipped large gym features a pilates reformer and adjoining attractive minimalist balau timber Japanese-style courtyard. The bedroom has a large spa-bath and impressive private balcony that overlooks the pool terrace and giant bean bags. Views from here encompass the Twelve Apostles and the distant enclaves past Camps Bay at Oudekraal and Llandudno. An inventively versative shutter extension here allows one to screen off the neighbouring property to ensure complete privacy.
A housekeeper will be available to undertake cooking and maintenance.
