The villa is a literal retreat or escape from every conceivable trappable element of our chaotic society. It is humble yet somehow maintains its effective degree of luxury and sophistication through the minimalist approach to interior design with only the utmost extremity of exquisite furnishings and materials having been utilized. Its location, absolutely jaw-slackening at first sight, is one that must with great surety be of the most uncontentious shoreline positions ever as yet attempted as an actual property s foundation. This statement is corroborated by the fact that the villa is evidently built directly onto the rock-face surface of the giant, quartz-stone, boulder-populated beach. From every room in the home, one has direct access onto the giant boulders or may literally walk outside and into the ocean in a few; short steps. The entrance to the property is accessed through a delightful maze of giant boulders ,( which the house has been built entirely around) ,magnificent potted succulents, ancient Milk Woods and a herb-garden. The natural rocky pathway has been embedded with labyrinthine mosaic-tiled designs. The villa is utterly secure, private and extremely secluded. CCTV cameras surveil and photograph any car parked or moving beside the property and a state-of-the art alarm system is on 24 hour guard. A two-car garage lies on the perimeter, but really, all outdoor parking around the property is safe and off-street in nature, due to the road being a private path off the main street. The home is very versatile in that it is comprised of the primary ground-floor living section and also includes a basement section. The basement offers itself as an instantly transformational area. It includes a fully-equipped laundry facility, an en-suite bathroom and shower, walk-in cupboard/storage space, a kitchenette and water-recycling units. The space may be left as is, turned into an additional bedroom for children, become a private apartment for a nanny or house-keeper, or is even befitting as a dressing-room/set-design facility for when the property is used for photo or film shoots. The house uses very environmentally conscious methods of heating and irrigation. Recycled water from the showers is used for the washing machine, toulets and plants. The geyser uses a solar-panel heating system.

The main living-area is very light-filled and serene. Authentic quartz-rock chunks comprised of the original excavation of boulders have been built into a focal point – a wall-feature which dazzles as one enters the home. The kitchen is designed open-planned and merges naturally with the tranquil atmosphere of the lounge. All colours maintain a continuity and relevance to the palette of the ocean and beach landscape. So, throughout the home one is ensconced in pastel blue, sea-turquoise, stone-grey, white, sand-beige and woody-brown. The kitchen is fitted with all functional, top of the range equipment. Surround-sound speakers have been inconspicuously built into walls of all rooms to provide music throughout. The lounge, as well as both bedrooms have plasma-screen television with satellite, as well as imported; weather-resistant sliding doors which open up directly onto the Balau timber deck.

The master bedroom features a walk-in wardrobe with mirror-panelled sliding doors. The queen-sized bed faces the breaking waves on the shoreline and the position provides an unobscured view of Lion s Head. The en-suite bathroom offers a particularly spectacular experience. Sections of large, crystal-embedded boulders protrude through one wall in its entirety. A single shower-head stands unframed by any glass. The quartz-carpet flooring throughout the villa ( as well as here) allow for the flooring to be essentially unaffected by water. Floors appear as a sparkling, miniature-pebbled, beach of grey and blue. A free-standing, marble bath-tub over-looks the sea-view and also allows for one to have a more social experience than what would usually be anticipated when contemplating the notion of bathing. The bath position allows one to interact with those in the bedroom through a glass-free window frame opening in the wall. The guest-bedroom includes an element of privacy in that it has the fittting of a mini-sink/coffee-making/ counter-top space that is concealed by mirrored , sliding doors. The bed also over-looks the ocean and a massive stretch of gigantic rocks and boulders. An exterior bathroom including a shower is available to this room. Across the passage to the guest bedroom is a very functional study area with filing and desk space.

The outdoor patio is effectively one length of Balau decking which wraps itself around the property. A rocky wall separates the edge of the decking from the waves, as during high tide the waves literally break against this wall. The patio includes a portable barbecue facility and an ample supply of reclining sun-lounging furniture. An ancient Milk Wood said to be over two-hundred years old grows majestically out of the rock-face and shades and over-hangs a raised outdoor jacuzzi. The jacuzzi is built in such a way so as to feel as if one is sitting in the sea, as there really is only a little wall separating one from the sea-water and its waves. Similarly, the old Milk wood trees populate most corners of the property amongst rows of land-scaped succulent plants, sea-shells and scatterings of pebbles and crystals. A strategically placed set of bar stools circulate a cock-tail table in a sea-facing corner of the patio. The utter highlight of the villa s outdoor periphery is the innovative addition of there being a hot and cold shower-head fixture supported and surrounded by a revolutionary arrangement of two-metre high boulders.
