Lengthened Review
Words By Aimee Eveleigh Gordon

Tucked away in an almost close-enough-to -touch the sea location, this villa definitively embodies the proverbial private beach house notion. With its white-washed wooden-slatted exterior and pale blue and quartz-crystal, cobble-stone framed accents; the villas effective ambience is instantly supplied in waves of sublime tranquility. The main entrance is on a corner facing the lapping, sandy shore of Clifton 4th Beach. A quaint, inconspicuous entry-way opens itself up onto the sunniest and most inviting courtyard possible to imagine. The surrounding vegetation has been masterfully landscaped to create a lush and overgrown feel in its peripheral, surrounding courtyard framery. Gorgeous and rustic-finished dining ensembles are scattered around in a manner that invokes the urge to throw a spontaneous alfresco ta-pas-catered gathering under the sparkling, African, Summer sky. This side of the villa is accessed internally by white American-Shutter doors that are craftily fitted to seamlessly blend in with the white-wood panelled exterior theme of the home.

Four bedrooms sleep a total of eight people throughout the house. The room on the Lions Head-facing side of the villa also opens up via shutter door access onto the courtyard. A twin-set of twin beds face the mountain views and an en-suite bathroom comes attached with a vintage-style, Victorian, free-standing tub and relevant vanities and toilet. Ample closet space is inconspicuously supplied and picture-frame cabin windows will let the morning light stream in. This suite also comes fitted with the top floor alarm system, air-con or climate-control system and intercom. A mentionable trait in the villa that creates the bulk of its earthy, warm and rough-hewn atmosphere, is the corner-to-corner wooden flooring. The wood is as unrefined as possible and its aesthetic brilliance is resulted from the woods natural darks, lights and marbling. The Villas Primary entrance allows immediate access the top-floors master-suite, which lies on the opposite side of the above-mentioned bedroom. This suite is finished in crisp, fresh whites, wood and white-washed light-inviting shutters throughout. A king-sized is bed positioned to overlook the rugged cliff-face and waves of the Clifton cove. An en-suite bathroom is luxuriously decorated with black-marbled Caesar-Stone and Stainless-Steel finishings. A free-standing Victorian style tub and huge walk-around shower room complete the whole. The external passages entrance location includes an additional toilet, vanity and shower set-up.

The top-floor living space is basically one, large, opened up area without any obstructing, compartmental dividers. A clear sense of division is maintained with minimalist interior-design features that remain distinctive and yet still serene. The rooms highlight is the banquette-style, long, rough-wooden dining table. Plank-style, bench seating frames its perimeter and collectively faces the exteriors entertainment deck and eventual horizon on the sea. An open-plan kitchen faces the dining-area with a bar-style counter top. The entire kitchen is fully-equipped for every conceivable culinary function. Double fridge, convection-stove, oven, microwave, freezer, bar equipment, etc. A rear doorway entrance allows access to the scullery and fully-equipped laundry room. The lounge area is magnificently lit through ceiling-level, picture-frame skylights. The reigning colour-palette is themed around tones of pebble-grey, sea-blues and greens and more of the signature whitest-whites. Singularly exquisite is the built-in wood-burning fireplace for cosy nights-in. Bottle-green ,glass accents are artistically sprinkled in small doses throughout. A climate-control system and built-into-the-wall, surround-sound speaker set-up are included here too.

The entire sea-facing front of the villa transforms instantly into a shutter-opening exit onto the Balau-Timber pool deck. This enormous stretch of patio is seriously aimed to be the designated place for ultimate, Summer entertaining sessions. All of the decks balustrades are lined with corner to corner bench seating and additional reclining, sunbathing chairs and outdoor dining furniture fill the space in assorted, movable arrangements. The exterior-design is very much part of the interior living-spaces theme in relation to its continuity of corresponding colours, textures and materials. A charming, jacuzzi-style splash pool is built snugly into the patios upper-deck area and comes with a convenient, little all-edge-round seating attachment. This baby pool is adjoined to the lower-level decks bigger-diving-length pool via a flowing waterfall-feature wall. Balau steps take one to a lower deck, incorporating the extra-length plunge-pool into its design. Ground level invites memories of child-hood tea-parties in the proverbial secret-garden. More of the initial overgrown, over-lush landscaping design is repeated in this garden, with an incredible assortment of indigenous, wild, sea-side plant species; orchids, lilies, cacti and sapling milk woods. The garden floor is a beautiful labyrinth of cobble-stone laced Quartz-Rock stones, stones and fresh-water pebbles. This private garden is serves as an additional, secluded outside area for the downstairs apartment, as it is simultaneously accessed by this apartments shutter-door exits.
An additional entry-way to the lower level section is in the form of deep, wooden steps ascending the dining-area part of the villas interior. The villas divisional design suggests the convenience of two, separate apartments, or one entire villa, which has a significant, cordoned-off, privacy-factor attribute – if so desired. In this lower-level, similar to the upstairs living space, the open-plan living-room-lounge feel is repeated; but with the unique decorative features that include a stunning, olive-to-avocado coloured, ostrich skin lounge-suite. A kitchenette/bar-area has been built in as a convenient luxury if intending on entertaining downstairs and not wanting the added hassle of repeated missions upstairs. A huge plasma-screen TV, DVD, I pod docking-station, DSTV and climate control is included, as well as another intercom and alarm set-up. The two bedroom-suites are distinctively divided into master and kids rooms. The kids room is completed with a shower and toilet combination en-suite and a twin set of single beds. The master suite has a lovely open-plan bathroom and is openly part of the entire rooms expanse. Here, a walk-in showering room in black Caesar-stone marble overlooks the outdoors. The bathtub is of the Victorian-style kind and dual vanities in porcelain and white marble-tiling finish the area in seamless complimentary tones. A wardrobe-space provides cupboards large enough for clothes for holiday and all the shopping one can conceive doing whilst on holiday.
