| This villa is best described from the entrance as it is situated on a mountain slope as all you see from the road is the front door of what looks like a beautifully designed, single storey house. Upon entry, you realise the villa drops down four storeys. You are greeted on the first level by a round glass elevator that serves the top three floors. On the top level is the master bedroom, the study and a large office with a strong room. The caretaker/manager and his housekeeper/chef wife team, who live in an adjoining flat, look after the house better than you would expect in a 6-star hotel. The master bedroom offers a double bed with large plasma flat screen TV at the end of the bed. (All but one of the television sets in the house are linked to DVD and satellite). Walking through the main bedroom, past a gas fireplace, brings you to a walk-in dressing area which is more like its own room. The view from the bathroom is one of the best in the world stretching from the Twelve Apostles, Camps Bay and Clifton. A double shower and double basins, bidet and jacuzzi bath are there for your convenience if you manage to turn away from the view. The next floor down is the guest level which houses the second, third, fourth and fifth bedrooms. Each bedroom deserves special mention, one bedroom offers the dual function of a standard as well as wheelchair friendly bedroom/bathroom. There is wheelchair space under the wash hand basin, and a fold-down chair in the shower. A unique feature is a double function toilet/bidet. For the convenience of anyone in a wheelchair there is a specially designed handle for lowering clothing from the cupboards. Another bedroom on this level has two single beds, which can also accommodate four beds making it great for the kids. This bedroom has two separate bathrooms, one with toilet, basin and bath, and the other with another toilet, basin and shower. The fourth and fifth bedrooms on this level are on the south side of the house and like all the others have incredible sea views. They each have a shower, a bath, a bidet and double basins. The fourth bedroom has glass surrounding most of the room, allowing whoever lays in bed there, almost the same view as one might find on a balcony stretching over the sea! On the third level down is the entertainment level. As you descend in the glass lift, or walk down the steps, which surround the lift shaft, you are instantly drawn to the panoramic sea view in front of you as the edge of the rim flow pool seems to join the ocean. This spacious entertainment area consists of the lounge, which is equipped with a screen Plasma Screen TV and a full Bose sound system, which connects to speakers inside the lounge and on the pool deck. The lounge areas ceiling is speckled with down-lighters and is next to but separate from a 12-seat dining room this in turn adjoins a splendid Gaggenau-equipped kitchen. In the other direction the lounge extends into a well-equipped bar with two fridges, and a gas fireplace at the end of the room. Through the bar is the gym and a Jacuzzi bath which can accommodate 8 people as well as a sauna. This area has its own shower for sauna users and bathers, one is able to fold back the entire glass window around the Jacuzzi room so that it joins the outdoor deck area. Inside, and down a flight of stairs, one ends up at the wine cellar/dining room. With its dark wood finishes, burnt orange Italian imported tiles on the ceiling, it provides a romantic setting for a candlelight dinner for twelve. You will also be transfixed by the panoramic view through the wide window which looks onto the ocean, beaches and rocks. Next to it is a separate Butlers kitchen. The view from the deck is amazing as the beautifully curved lines of the house with its 15metre length pool seemingly spills over into the ocean. The gazebo, with roll blinds for inclement weather, is a feature much enjoyed by residents whether it is day or night. With sliding shutters which can be opened the full length of the front deck, there is also controllable shade to enjoy the brightest sunsets in the west. On a practical level, the house is secured by an electric fence, high walls and an alarm system supported by a leading security service. In addition, there is also a 24hour security guard outside the front entrance. It has four closed garages and parking for 3 more cars. It has a fully equipped laundry. Below the house is a charming garden with a lawn and a natural rock pool for Koi. |
