| Known as Villa Africa, this triple-storey hillside villa is decorated in a contemporary African style and the house has partial views overlooking Camps Bay and the Atlantic coastline beyond. The main house is accessed via steps leading directly to the outdoor entertaining terrace which is well-equipped with loungers, café tables and chairs, and a large sofa and ottoman for lazing outdoors and enjoying barbeques together on balmy summer evenings under the stars. The living area is all open-plan and the spacious lounge area leads into the dining area with its 10-seater table and high-backed, leather-upholstered chairs. An office alcove is conveniently situated off living area near glass sliding doors leading to the terrace. At the back of the house, the kitchen is a sleek blend of mahogany and black with a scullery and utility area tucked around the corner and out of sight. A curved granite counter or breakfast bar with high bar stools separates the kitchen from the dining area. Nearby, a tinkling water feature below the stairs can be lit up at night for added effect. The curved staircase is covered by skylights providing ample natural light and giving glimpses of the mountains behind Camps Bay. The main villa has four bedrooms, with a four-poster bed featuring in the main bedroom, and all the glossy black-and-white bathrooms are en-suite. White linen offsets elegant mahogany furnishings and fixtures and the rooms are generally spacious with ample storage. The main bedroom also has its own private balcony with views. Three of the bedrooms have sea views. Five air conditioning units keep the house cool and three plasma screens are provided. If you prefer private pools to beach you have two options to choose from: an eight-person Jacuzzi elevated above the main deck with great views of the Twelve Apostles mountain range and the sea, or a nine-metre, solar-heated rock pool in the garden, which is surrounded by tropical plants and fed by a steaming waterfall.? For those who like pool parties, a pool bar opens onto the pool area in the garden. A guest bathroom leads off the Jacuzzi terrace for added convenience. And for anyone who likes to continue their gym routine while on business or holiday, there’s a well-equipped gym in the adjacent cottage, which also has two additional, standard bedrooms. The cottage is separate and has its own entrance up the side of the main villa. One of the bedrooms is upstairs on a mezzanine level, while the other is downstairs. Both have bathrooms en suite but all fixtures and furnishings are less luxurious than the main house. Parking is available for six cars, with space for two of them in garages. |
