7 Athol Road Camps Bay A Grand Home

Magnificently situated in mountainous surroundings, is where this charming home is located-within full view of the Twelve Apostles- and a short walk to Camps Bay beach is a great start to the day or stroll under the palm trees for an elegant place to dine. Table Mountains cableway is just a five minute drive away as is the V & A Waterfront, one of the most widely known attractions in this town for its African art and treasures, shops and restaurants.

A large Victorian style villa with plenty space and light is a stunning family home with a strong sense of history. Classic, timeless, refined and elegant furniture of high standards and quality sits well alongside modern contemporary pieces, in keeping with the age of the house, while incorporating some of the relaxed beach spirit of its surrounds such as warm and cool colours in casual living areas, clever skylight and atrium ideas for making the most of the sun and breathtaking views over Camps Bay and Table Mountain and adaptable glass sliding doors and large windows that open wide allowing guests to listen to the sound of the sea on the beach.

An extra large front door opens on to welcoming beige painted and tiled dining and living areas ahead and a kitchen to the right. Dine in style around a table made from quality wood with six chairs and an elegant wooden food server along the wall and have a roaring fire in the restful, casual living room where variety is incorporated with three square beige good looking armchairs, a comfortable sofa and an oblong shaped glass coffee table with chrome feet. Elegant spotlights are fitted into the ceilings and glass sliding doors open up on to a wooden deck. The much lived in kitchen is a world apart from the clinical design of modern kitchens with curved fitted cupboards, wicker drawers an oblong shaped black marble centre work island and a semi-circular, polished wooden table with four chairs. Glass sliding doors open on to a separate laundry and the front of the house and large windows create much light.

Down tiled stairs to the right of the entrance is a guest loo and four of the villas five bedrooms. There is a sense of decadence in the bedrooms with soft beige carpets, contemporary double beds with dark wood headboards and vast glass sliding doors and windows that fill the rooms with light and link guests with the outdoors and the phenomenal scenery. Bedroom one has white fitted wardrobes, a camel colour suede armchair and a private wooden balcony. Bedroom two has a stylish dressing table, a square beige armchair and doors that open on to a large balcony that looks over the sea. Bedroom three has a chest of drawers and a round armchair. These three bedrooms share a large bathroom with glass windows and a glass roof facing Table Mountain, a sunken bathtub, shower, black marble covering the vanity area and an oval shaped washbasin.

The elegant main bedroom en suite has dark wooden doors with a glass brick wall at the entrance and a luxurious walk in closet complete with plenty fitted wardrobes and drawers, large mirrors and a glass roof. The king size bed, wall television, square shaped armchair and rest, remote controlled curtains, air-conditioning, house intercom system, fitted ceiling speakers, windows all along the front wall, a glass roofed sheltered stairway that leads to the garden and glass sliding doors on to the balcony that overlooks the swimming pool gives this room a hotel feel. The bathroom has classic oval shaped his and hers washbasins on a beige marble vanity area, a raised bathtub and a curved wall shower.

A curved wooden stairway leads up to a huge tiled open plan area with a tiled balcony, a fitted corner desk, internet access, telephone and large windows that face Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles and a guest bathroom with a shower and views of the sea. A sitting room has a brown leather sofa, perfect for little sticky fingers, a linen sofa, a square coffee table, a television and fitted wood and glass cupboards for storing bedding and bulky coats. Downstairs has a movable snooker table providing much fun, a wooden dining table with six chairs, a living area with two comfortable large wicker chairs, a beige sofa, a long beige seat, a square shaped dark wood coffee table and a smart dark wood television cabinet plus a gym/exercise room. A fully equipped, convenient kitchen has fitted wooden cupboards and leads on to an outdoor barbeque area.

A carpeted bedroom with twin beds and a dark wooden headboard, fitted wooden wardrobes, a round beige armchair and glass sliding doors that open up on to the gym room and the outside and a bathroom with a shower and bathtub is positioned up a few steps.

Vast curved tiled steps on either side of the balcony overlook an atmospheric and colonial inspired large swimming pool and traditional garden with four sunbathing loungers and high walls all around ensuring absolute privacy. A smaller semi-circle shaped pool with glass walls and a water fountain has steps leading into the main pool.

All in all this entire home, where every inch of space is put to good use, is perfect for a long holiday by the sea.
